We took on this alternative project to make a all-cedar display case for a local business in Albuquerque. The showroom makeover brought the outdoors inside, both in sight and smell. The natural cedar provides an inviting ambiance where customers can relax and enjoy their shopping experience.
Everyone’s envious of a natural pair. Especially at the lake.
Our clients just renovated a new lake house in the Atlanta area. They want their getaway space to feel comfortable, with decor that brings the outdoors inside. They like mixing elements like wood, glass and steel, creating a space that’s clean and modern but inspires relaxation.
When Mark found this cedar at a local wood store in Albuquerque, we knew the pieces would be perfect for custom end tables. He sanded the two pieces of cedar to expose the natural color, added a smooth finish and completed the look by creating stands with galvanized pipe. He also included an onyx inlay to accent the natural flaws in the wood, giving it a little extra character.
We can’t wait to see these beauties in their permanent habitat.
This table has been a permanent fixture throughout their lives, enduring through parties and spills, crafts and homework, years of wear and tear from kids, pets and house sitters. At some point, a boiling pot was set upon its finish. With that much life, there was no way they would trade it in for a new model.
With a new makeover, this table is now in the market for a soulmate…preferably bar height.
Sometimes all it takes is a little wine and brain power.
That’s what happened on Valentine’s Day in 2014. We had completed a small remodel of our dining room, which included painting, updating the fireplace tile and replacing carpet with porcelain tile that looks like hardwood. We were shooting for decor that reminds us of the interiors you see in mansions in Telluride. We wanted a wine rack, but were unimpressed with the selection through the usual channels. So, we made one ourselves out of real walnut.
This wine rack, which doubles as a statement piece on the wall, was our first custom furniture project. Fast forward two years, and we have officially launched House of Henton (so now you can have your own!).
